Reedbuck are similar to a Whitetail deer in colour and size, hair texture, with horns instead of antlers, other than continents there is little difference between the coloration and size of the species. REEDBUCK HUNTING METHODS
Due to their habit of enjoying first and last light, this is one of the best times to hunt them as they bed down in long grass or reed beds during the heat of the day. The best way is to find some high ground overlooking a marsh and glass the area carefully. Once located, mark the spot as carefully as possible and head towards your prey in order to cut down the shooting distance. Once you get closer the stalk will commence until you are in a position to take a shot. Sometimes the animal may unfortunately nestle down to bed and then you should use your scent to flush the animal. They normally whistle, jump up and take off and may stop to look back offering you a shot.

The best months for hunting Southern Reedbuck in Southern Africa are the winter months of June to August when these animals are likely to sun themselves first thing in the morning and at last light. Full moon is not a good time to hunt Reedbuck as they tend to feed all night and rest up for most of the day.
